An infusion is a misnomer for this type of product since a true infusion by definition is an aqueous preparation made by pouring boiling water over finely chopped botanical drugs, herbs etc. e.g.tea.
Our infusions are made with cold solvents, frequently alcoholic which according to strict definitions should be tinctures. Historically however they have been titled as such and it is by these many of our customers best know them as.
The strong infusion range is not recognised in the pharmacopoeia but tinctures are. The 'strong' refers to the fact a high ethanolic content used in the extraction process tends to yield maximum extractives.
